Having trouble with Whatsapp :(.

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to initialize my Whatsapp so that I can install it but it just says that I'm not connected to the internet (I am). What can I do?

Btw, I have an HTC Desire on T-Mobile in the U.K.

Same here. I just got my Nexus S yesterday and tried installing Whatsapp last night.

I received the verification SMS and after that Whatsapp tried to initialize but a "Failure" occurs.

Same error message as the OP.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing but it doesn't help.

I have an iPhone 4 on the same wifi network and it initializes fine.

Please help!

Please email whatsapp support at support@whatsapp.com

I've emailed them but haven't heard anything in the past 24 hours.

It's definitely an issue with android issues only and seems to have only started yesterday sometime

Were you guys ever able to fix this? I just got an LG Optimus 2x and I can't initialize whatsapp. Keeps saying 'unable to connect, please try again later' when I try to register phone number, even though I am connected and even registered Kakao as a test. I got this reply from Whatsapp, however it comes up with can't connect after five seconds so don't have the option of trying to voice register:

TELEPHONE NUMBER VERIFICATION

I usually recommend these steps:
1) Double check that you have input the correct phone number for your phone
2) Double check that you have cellular / 3g / edge service. Are you roaming?
3) Reboot your phone. Make sure you have plenty of memory free.
4) Check your SMS credits / payments
5) Send a test SMS from your phone to your number. Be sure to include your international country code prefix with plus (+). For example +1 804 555 1212
6) Disable any task killers (for example: Advanced Task Killer)
7) Disable any text message interceptors (for example TextSecure, Handcent)
8) Please download the latest from Android Market or our website. Point your phone browser at:
Android Market - WhatsApp :: Download
WhatsApp website - WhatsApp for Android
9) Attempt WhatsApp SMS verification. Wait patiently.
10) Is your SMS service really slow? Do you need more than 15 minutes?
11) Did you try Voice alternative after waiting 10 minutes?

Thanks in advance

=D

can i install my whatsapp crack version while using the free trail version? i tried once but it seems to stuck at the same place...

hey everyone
I specially made this account just to give you the solution

I had the similar issue 2 months back
I tired everything from emailing the Whatsapp team to Re-installing the software in my phone about 3 times and erased all the data from my phone twice

Nothing Worked !

Then once i went somewhere, there my whatsapp worked perfectly fine when i was using someone else's wifi
So then i got MY Internet MODEM Changed

And now my whatsapp works just fine :)

I also had the same problem on the new phone that I bought. I read somewhere to go to www.whatsapp/download, choose my phone version and download and install the app from there.
It worked for me. Although when i entered the whatsapp download website, it opened the Google Play. I installed the app from there again and it worked. I had uninstalled the default whatsapp that came with the phone.

To make the initialization passes without any failed, you must enable the synchronization between your phone and the whatsapp application is ON.....this is the way:

1. Open setting
2.account and sync setting
3. add account
4. whatsapp
5. auto-sync

and try to initialized the apps accounts again......Gud Luck!!!!!

Hi,

I'm still unable to reinstall my whatsapp. Kept saying that initialisation failed due to connection issue...

I uninstalled the app, reboot my Note II, reinstall the app. I tried to do the following steps, however, they say i need to register before i'm able to sync. So when i register, i face the initialisation problem. And then i do the following steps, but still face the same problem... :(

Why is it so hard to install whatsapp on android... Previously i was using iphone & nvr had much problem with the whatsapp...

Can someone please help me? It's so frustrating. I have been reinstalling, uninstalling & rebooting the phone but nothing seems to work.

Hello, I bought an S3 today and have the exact same problem :( Its so annoying, did you find a solution? I have tried everything I could.

Whatsapp is on maintenance. there's some problem on their server.
Me having same prob too..
Check their twitter. @WA_Status
as it says:
"@WA_Status
sorry system is currently down, we are in the process of investigating"

I bought a SGS3 yesterday, and I'm also having problems with whatsapp. Last night it recognised the first few contacts I added, but then no more. Now I cannot refresh my contact list at all. It says that all my contacts are invisible (I don't think they are...) but when I click "use all contacts" it comes back with "please try again later".

I'm relieved to hear that it is a server problem and not just me. Although the twitter update is about 24 hours after the problem began... However I hope it gets fixed soon - this is one of those key apps I can't live without!

If anyone finds out it is a problem on the user side then please let us know!

I made this account to ask this important question

I know about todays whatsapp error. But many say it's over now. Just after that I re-installed whatsapp. But now it still won't initialize. I even fully reseted my phone.

Is his still because of the error? Or will whatsapp never work again on my phone?

I've done all above, but it didnt work :((

i'm having the same problem yesterday at my home using my home wifi and mobile data, can't finish the initializing state, but today it just suddenly worked just fine in my office using my office wifi (still waiting about 1 minute though).

maybe trying with other wifi can solve the problem.

Thanks a ton Nizam...:)

I had problem when installing WA on GPRS device but it work well at 3G/wifi

Hi! My sister faced this same problem when she switched from blackberry to s4. We tried everything mentioned here and some other sites too. Whatsapp just wouldn't connect (on 2g). Even when all other data apps like viber and tango were working fine.
This is what finally did the trick- very simple.. Properly delete whatsapp from the old phone. (In her BB we had to go into settings - application's -whatsapp -delete )
Then reinstall whatsapp in your new phone.

Hope this helps.
