HD PVR Opinions

Thought I'd ask this here seeing as there is no shortage of gamers here
Christmas is coming and my son wants a HD PVR, so he can share his gameplay on you tube. He will be using the XBox 360.
Keep this in mind....I, myself do not play games and, yes I set his gaming system up for him, so I kinda know my way around hooking stuff up.

I have seen mixed reviews on these 2 systems that I have found:
Roxio Game Capture

and

Hauppauge HD PVR

Anybody using either of these? Or is there something else out there?
Comments?

I knew nothing of these systems before 2 days ago, so.....

When I get a chance I can look at them or bring up some suggestions of others.
Is your son going to record Minecraft? I love that game!

Yes, minecraft (he's really into that one atm!) and, heh, I forget what other games he has.

lol I saw this and thought I'd help out. I think my friend has one, but I don't know what brand it is. I'll check out the two you mentioned sometime and maybe look for some others for suggestions.

I know a lot of the big youtubers use an Hauppauge HD PVR

I think I'd go with the Haupage PVR Mike. I'm seeing that it's great for making videos for gaming and is an invaluable for making online videos. Your son games and I think this would be good to get him. I'll look into it more.

I did a little more research and I think I am leaning towards to hauppauge
I got a little more time for more opinions and research before I order/buy it.

Now Mike, i really do not know a lot about recording videos on the Xbox, but i have done some recording myself, and i find it is best to check out some side-by-side videos.
