Help Headphone jack thinks remote control is pluggedin, keeps activating voice commands/pausing music

Hey, my LG V10 is having issues with playing music lately. I have a pair of Audio Technica headphones with no remote control, yet my phone keeps registering button presses to activate voice controls and lower volume and pause my music whenever the cable is moved in certain positions. It's making my job difficult as I need to walk around a lot outside, and I can't keep taking my phone out to resume my music. This problem persists across all of my headphones, and I'm at a loss. Is this a common problem with the V10?

WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS!

The only thing I can think of is if there is a glove mode option, turn it off,see if that helps.

It is semi common on brand new devices.
I used to have the same issue quite frequently, but as time has passed it's gone away.

I've never had this issue until now and I've had this phone for five months

Have you cleaned out the port. Make sure there's nothing in the bottom.

Or maybe the port is worn out.

Either way, I'm leaning towards hardware being the problem.
