headphone wire color code

ok so i have the HTC Incredible and i bought this >>> Amazon.com: Griffin iTrip Universal FM Transmitter and Charger for MP3 Players: Electronics . Works great and i bent the plug that goes into the phone's headphone jack. So I'm splicing a new 3.5" stereo plug onto the line.

Here is the Question....

The existing line has four wires ( red, blue green, orange ) and the new plug has 3 wires ( red, black, bare )

What goes where?

crap....well obviously on 3 wire you have right side/left side hot and common ground....but like you; i have no idea what the other side is....

Hey, thanks for the replies guys, thought this one was dead. Now i have a legit excuse to bump my own thread I'm gunna go read that link right now and just for reference sake, here's what I'm dealing with.

Edit : I had infact come across that link in my own search, not too helpful, but thanks for the effort
