Headphones don't "click" in

Hello
I have a new S5. I had one before but it got stolen so I got the same phone. Brand new.

I noticed on the new one, the headphones don't "click" and lock in when push the plug in the jack. usually you can feel a click and it takes a little effort to pull it out and "unclick" it.

my old one, i think it clicked in.

Is this common with the S5? Should I consider sending it back? I have a warranty but have to decide soon.

thanks

on both of my S5 phones, the effort to push in the ear bud plug is a LOT.

at first, I thought my earbuds were broke, they would not work.

then I bought a new set, nada...

so, I was noticing on the old, and the new plugs, that they lacked about 1/8 inch going all the way in.

I pushed HARD and click! music....

i am pushing as hard as possible and no click.
i do get sound in the headphones but it is not locked in.

if the earbud plug is not shaped to specifications, it will not stay locked in.

I have had some plugs that weren't to spec, and that includes the plastic/rubber molded portion of the plug.
Some I had, the molded form projects too close to the phone's case and won't slide inside the jack's cutout area.

I put a headphone into my mp3 player and it clicks and locks right in. then I put the same headphones in my S5 and no click. no lock.

Ive done it with 3 different headphones now. same thing. click in the mp3 player. no click in the s5.

then, it would indicate that the jack in the S5 has something keeping the jack from seating all the way to the bottom.

or, the jack itself has a weak spring to keep the plug locked in....
I would contact the seller and see what they will do for you.....

failing that, a cellphone repair service can replace the jack....

we have a good here locally, should be one in your area.

i have tried everything. i push as hard as I can. no click or lock, and a secure connection is never made. the plug just slips out if I move the phone around.
I had an S5 before and it did not do this. I'm sending it back.
thanks
