I think we need a lot more info on what you have tried in order to make them work.
Have you tried a different set of headphones? Does the device play music at all when you have them plugged in? If it plays music through the speakerphone with your headphones plugged in, then it doesn't recognize that your headphones are plugged in. At that point, there could be something in your headphone jack that is keeping them from making contact.
If it isn't hardware, it could possibly be software. Have you uploaded any new apps lately?
