Headset controls issue

I have the Sol Republic Jax headphones -which are great- except for this one issue. When I try to use the inline controls instead of play/pausing music, it only opens the phone app or answer/end a call. Is there any way to remap the buttons? I am using an LG Volt

I tried that app before but pressing the middle button still only carries out phone functions :/
