Lurker
Hi, y'all!
I joined this forum hoping to get a solution to a very annoying problem. I read a thread similar to my problem, but no one had a solution, so I will ask again.
I'm with Verizon. I *had* an HTC Incredible that worked fine until a few months ago. I started hearing key pad beeps while talking.
My friend nor I were touching our phones, so there was and is no accidental touching of the keypads. My display is black (inert) when this happens.
The tones are NOT notification tones, including email, text, minute or roaming.
At first I thought it was my friend's network because it started about the time that she got a smart phone with T-Mobile, but then it happened with someone who is on Verizon's network.
It doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes it's quite frequent during a call and very annoying.
Once I determined that the person with whom I was speaking wasn't touching their keypad, I thought that my calls were being recorded or listened to. Is that possible?
I've talked to two people at Verizon. I was told it was probably my older Incredible or its battery. I was due for an upgrade, so I upgraded to the Rezound Friday. It started again today. So, it wasn't the old device.
Could it be HTC? I had the Motorola Razr Maxx for three days before returning it and didn't hear the tones with that phone.
I spoke with someone at Verizon today who said she's worked for the company nine years and has never heard of this problem. Great.
Is there anyone on this forum who has an answer.....please!!!
Thx!
