Welcome to Android Forums, mskeithmo!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but here's the thing about notification icons: there are millions of them. Actually, millions and millions. That's because there are millions of Android apps, and each app can contain numerous notification icons. Twitter, for example, shows a heart when one of your tweets is liked, a double-arrow when your tweet is retweeted, an envelope when you've received a direct message, and so on.

Because of that, it's very unlikely that anyone will be able to identify yours. It could be for anything from a fitness app to Twitter! Once in awhile we're able to identify an icon, either because someone personally recognizes it, or we have enough distinct searchable data to go on, like 'purple with red stars shaped like an elephant.' :)

If the phone is yours, pulling down on the notification should reveal its source. If it's not yours, the easiest and best way is to ask its owner.

You're entirely missing the point. Maybe rereading my post will make it clearer. I didn't say he has Twitter, and I addressed the possibility of it not being your phone. Take another look, please.
