Root Heating up

Does anyone else's phone heat up a lot? I notice when I use it its starts heating up quickly and it eventually reboots.

Very rarely like only once while sitting in sun running hot spot for7 hours it happened. The reboot is protective to the phone, seems to avoid damage to device.
What type of use does it for you is it a rooted device? Over clocked?

Its rooted and overclocked to 1.188 and I'm using the NinJroid version of BP.

Depends on what I am using the phone for, as to whether or not it gets hot. But mine can get hot for an hour and not reboot. If they are actually working, I have rules set to force the CPU maximum down at various temperatures.

Also, 1.188 is not an overclock on this phone.

I don't have the device, so I was basing that on the op.

Thanks for clearing that up though

Mine gets hot and reboots when streaming game audio on the nfl mobile app. I have only noticed it while in 4g. I am going to use cmda only tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.

Man i was trying to play the game dead trigger and the phone got extremely hot and fast. You guys think switching kernels might help?

I would think it is more of the CPU settings...

So about 30 minutes ago I was watching you tube vids again and my phone shut off (yes completely off, now power down either, went from working to dead, like a battery pull during use would do). It was warm, but not hot feeling. After rebooting I popped open logcat and saved the file. Recently I turned logcat to the most detailed view, so I opened the file up, and there is nothing there before the power up, and it does not look like anything was there from the boot process either.

Any ideas why the logcat would not show anything from before the UI reloaded?

Was able to listen to 2 full halves of football this Sundays with no reboots through the nfl mobile app. I ran cdma only and set my cpu back to 1.5 ghz. I was able to listen to the complete 1st half while cutting grass in the hot FL sun with the phone in my pocket. It got warm but not hot like last week. Next week I will try 4G again with the oe clocking to test.
