i thought i'd finaly get round to upgrading the software on my phone, followed everystep, now the damn fone cant find the memory card installed , rendering the pc companion usless me unable to transfer files from my pc to phone ( namely the music and photos i backed up on my pc!)

help

please bare in mind im a tired mum of a toddler and need babystep type instructions

If you have a media reader in your computer, use a SDCard adapter and stick it directly in your computer and format it. Or use the SDCard formatter application you can install on your computer so that your computer formats the card properly:

Or stick it in a camera and in the camera options chose to format the card.

After you format the card elsewhere, then stick it back in the phone (make sure you have it in right and it feels and looks snug) then under Settings->Storage->Mount the card if it already isn't.

If you couldn't do any of that, then under Settings->Storage go to Erase SDCard. Or Unmount and Format.

Or if you just installed 2.3, you might need to do a Factory Reset (to reset 2.3 settings back to scratch) You might not have permissions to read the card which was last used under 2.1.

didnt work - i have no way of formatting existing micro sd as it doesnt fit in my camera, so new card ordered online

Format through your pc how you normally would (right click/format) or using that app beau suggested. Maybe connect the micro sd directly to PC if formatting through phone USB doesnt work. Get your hands on a sd card with a micro sd slot or usb card reader so you can connect your micro sd to your PC or camera. GL with it all, just hope you dont experience the same problem with your new micro sd
