Just popping in to say hello to all on androidforums.com.

As you can tell from my user name my name is Mick and am living in Ireland.

My phone at the moment is a HTC Desire running android 2.2.2

I was wondering about rooting but i must admit i aint very good with technology and find it all a bit scary. Is there any such thing as rooting for dummies???

Anyway look forward to talking with you's

You should check out the HTC Desire - Android Forums sub-forum... there is an All Things Root section in there... you should find all the info you need to help you get rooted!
