Lurker
Hi all, I'm new to the forum. So far I am liking the Razr phone.
However, today, my non-rooted (regular, stock phone - only has apps that were downloaded/installed from Android Market) has simply up and locked itself up.
I kid you not. Only the small purple LED flashes every few seconds. I don't know what it means, but I've plugged it in for a recharge. Nothing. Phone is not responsive.
Now, as a Developer, when a bug appears - the first thing you usually think about in terms of troubleshooting is (or should be) "What was the last change you made" ?
And my answer is - I changed to a different ringtone. That's about all i can remember changing recently.
After googling, and checking other forums, I found that I'm not alone in this problem - but the suggestion at droidforums (not here) to get an OTA update or holding down the POWER + VOLUME buttons ... not convinced.
Firstly, holding down these buttons don't do anything, except aggravate the human doing the holding and hoping.
Secondly. if the phone ever does come back to life, then sure, I'd be glad to do the OTA update.
