Hi! My name is Jordan.. and i'm new with android phones so yeah!
I was wondering what are the benefits of rooting an android and what are the negatives?

The benefits of rooting are that you have "superuser" access to your phone. This allows you to alter certain files or change the operating system completely through a ROM. The downside is that it voids your warranty and rooting isn't 100% safe so there's a chance you could brick your phone. (Brick meaning it becomes a fancy paperweight).
