Hi folks, I've had my first Android machine, a Nexus 7 for a year but don't have the confidence to root it yet. I tried once and only succeeded in returning it to what it was when I bought it, so I'm joining the forums to learn more before having another go. I need to learn more.

I have included a link to the tablet that I believe you have so that you can learn more about rooting it. Asking lots of questions, and reading the forum to learn about rooting your device is always a wise move.
Also before you root, make sure that the rooting instructions you are following match up with the exact device you have.
