Help a Brother in Need with his questions

Some things that i want to know but whenever i search the net, all answers contradict; let me try my luck at these forums:

1) does using custom lock screen apps and custom launchers like Nova launcher or Go Launcher consumes significant amount of extra battery?

2)While using a custom launcher, switching back to stock one and without deleting the other launcher will it or widgets there continue to work at background? If so is there a way to stop it?*

1) I can't say for sure but I doubt it.

2) If you have things on your home screen in touchwiz but use another launcher, then go back to touchwiz, it will keep your settings and screen layout with icons and widgets. If they are 'running' while using an alternative launcher or not I'm not sure but I doubt it. Especially if you switch to your alternative launcher and reboot.
