Root Help! adb, error: device not found

mrbuilder

Lurker
I've rooted numerous Razrs using Dan Rosenburg's motofail method. Now for some reason, I can't do it anymore. I tried rooting a D4 and a Razr and neither one works.
It appears to be that there is a problem with adb somewhere.

I have the latest Motorola drivers installed (5.5.0).
I have the phones in USB Debugging mode, Charge only.

Both are brand new phones that have not received any OTA updates and have never been rooted.

This is what appears in my cmd prompt window...

What am I missing? Do I need to update or replace some drivers? Sorry for my ignorance...

I got it to work!! After literally hours of fuming and trying numerous things, I finally got my phones to root. I copied five files from the Motofail folder: busybox, motofail, run.bat, su and Superuser.apk to my Android-sdk\platform-tools\ folder. I then ran run.bat as an Adminstrator and everything went off without a hitch. Yay!!!
Can anyone tell me why it worked? I would really like to use this as a learning experience.
Thanks guys!
