I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S and have just had to do a factory reset.
The first thing I noticed is that I seem to have lost the Dock part of screen. Previously, I was able to put frequently used icons along bottom of screen and they would appear on all screens.
Actually, just noticed that it has "MyFiles" in bottom left, "Applications" in bottom right and bars indicating which screen is active in the middle. However, I cannot drag other items into this area.
Can anyone help me get this feature back, please, and allow me to customise this area?

All sorted now! I installed Nova Launcher and this has given me what I needed
