Help "Ali's webpage AD"

Kimo67

Newbie
I can't seem to be able to remove "Ali's Webpage AD" from my phone. Every time I clean my storage it comes back later. Can you help please?

How are you cleaning your storage? Have you tried anything like Malwarebytes to identify any malware that may be installed on your phone?

"Ali" meaning Alibaba? The Chinese internet, e-commerce, technology and data company.

Are you using any of their apps?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Alibaba+Mobile
Or possibly you got some app or game installed that's using Alibaba's advertising services for monetization? And that folder could be the temp cache for the ads.

Just found this, same thing with a Xiaomi phone running MIUI.

That very much confirms it, "TAOBAO" is Alibaba. And would normally only have that they was using the Taobao app(Chinese only).

I go to settings then storage and press clean. I see the "Ali's Wepage AD" being deleted. And when I try this again later it's back in storage. I use McAfee on my Samsung note 8 but it does detect it.

I am not using the Taobao app. I'm in the UK. Is there any anti malware that I can download to resolve this?

You wouldn't usually be using Taobao anyway, unless you're in China. Are you using a Xiaomi phone?
Because from the other Xiaomi thread I posted, I suspect it might be a system process in MIUI doing it. MIUI being the heavily customized version of Android that Xiaomi phones run. Maybe Xiaomi partnered with Alibaba for monetization or user data mining or something?

Maybe it would help if we could see a screenshot of the ad. Press volume down + power simultaneously to take a screenshot and post a pic here.

So it could be some app or game(possibly of Chinese origin) you've got installed that's doing it, that is monetized with Alibaba's ad services. Are you using any apps or games that you know have ads in them?

I recently installed an app for the security camera called Yoosee, it has what appears to be Chinese writing on it. I can obviously uninstall it but how do I use my security camera otherwise?

'Powered by Clean Master' in the screen-shot, what's that from?

I know anything by Cheetah Mobile is definitely Chinese adware.

Does camera app with Chinese show ads in it?

I just checked "Clean master" is by cheetah :-( Shall i delete it?
You would have though that an anti-malware and anti-virus app should be protecting your phone not the other way round.

I mean the matter of that is "Flipboard".
You should desactivate this APP and test later.

Sorry to bump. This Clean Master, be it made by Cheetah Mobile or not, is a built in Samsung app (Titled Device Care on Android Pie.) Every Samsung Device comes equipped with it. (Pay no mind to the very obvious Apple logo and whatever "Coconut" is. I'm using a theme that changed the image, but it would otherwise say Clean Master)

I'm having the same problem when I clean my phone in device maintenance. I get the Ali Webpage AD and Taobao Cache. Please someone tell me how to get rid of these. I already checked for unknown odd apps and didn't find any, unless I missed one. Is there any way to get this off my phone?
