[HELP] Android Getting Hot w/flashing Red light and not turning on

Hi, i've been having a issue with my tablet/Android which is a XGODY Y10 Plus 6 inch Android 5.1 Smartphone MTK6580. When i charge it, It gets really hot and the plug gets hot aswell untill i unplug it, I toke the battery out last night and put it in this morning and its been dead since, I've put it on charge for 1 hour and a half and its just showing a flashing light, Can anyone help me? Frankly that sounds like something has failed in it, gone faulty. Did it smell bad at all? Flashing red light of death. Is it under warranty?

Flashing red light often indicates failure to charge. If you are lucky it's a dead battery (the alternatives are more expensive). If the battery is at all swollen then it's definitely damaged and should not be used - they are dangerous when that starts to happen. Rapid drain could also be a sign that the battery was failing.

All I can really say is that device and charger getting hot was a sign that it was drawing excessive current, so this was a serious problem. You were right to stop trying to charge it at that point.
