HELP assigning notification tone to Epic

I just got a Samsung Epic and I'm trying to set the "notification" tone to an MP3 file I have saved. I've read all the previous troubleshooting threads and it still will not work. I have installed Ringzoid and Rings Extended on my phone. I have used each one to set the notification tone to the MP# file I downloaded. Still, when I get a text, it plays the default tone and not my MP3 tone I have set. It's a 3 second tone. The file is also in the "My files" "SD card" "media" "audio" "notifications" folder that was created. Can someone please help me? I'm ready to scream!
 
If you want that file for a text, you need to go to the notification settings in the text app and change it there. The text notification is different from the normal phone notifications.
 
I found it. My filter was on and didn't show it. once I turned the filter off, I was able to sent the tone to "messages" Thank you for all your help!:p
