Help Choosing a New Phone

I'm going to head to the Verizon Store tomorrow to choose a new phone. Right now I'm thinking that I'll go to the Galaxy S3, but I want to get a few opinions from you guys first.

So, Given that I:
-Am on Verizon
-Am planning to root my device (Good Dev Support is important to me)
-Would like a phone with great performance
-Would like a phone with expandable storage if possible

I already decided against the DROID DNA because it will be awhile at best to get any AOSP ROMs. Plus with no S-OFF yet, I don't want to set myself up for heartbreak! Really the only reason that I'm worried about the GS3 is that in the back of my head I'm worried that it won't be future proof, and I really need it to last me through another 2 year contract.

In my humble opinion, as of today:

The Samsung Galaxy SIII is the best/most future proof phone on the market for CDMA carriers.

The Google Nexus 4 is the best/most future proof phone on the market for GSM carriers.
