Help choosing phone!!

Long time lurker, first post.

I'm on the Verizon network because it's old hat for me I guess. Been a Verizon customer since 2001 and have been pretty happy with their service. I still have the unlimited plan on my phone and I have a dumb phone line and another line with an Iphone 4 that is on a 2GB plan. My line is currently eligible for an upgrade but I would prefer not to loose my unlimited. I'm currently using a Droid Incredible. I've been using an Iphone 4 for the past 2 years plus and before that was the OG Motorola Droid so I'm not up on the Android offerings.

I need the following in a phone in order of importance.

Great battery life. I listen to Iheartradio, Pandora and Tunein radio up to 6 hours a day through my Bluetooth earbuds.

Has to get good reception in my office. Iphone was great but my Incredible will get 1 bar if I'm lucky so when I do get a call I have to go outside.

Processor that can handle games okay. Not a hardcore gamer by any means but I do game every now and then.

Like a bigger screen than my Incredible for movies and videos.

Decent camera. Don't take a lot of pictures but would like something that takes nice pictures while out fishing and such.

Not sure which direction to look?

If you're looking for a phone with good reception and battery life, you're going to want to look at Motorola phones. The Razr Maxx HD seems to be what your interested in terms of features, but it is a bit on the older side since it came out in October. Motorola hasn't released a phone since then, but is in the process of releasing the XFone which should also be good for you. Verizon itself hasn't really released many top of the line Androids this year outside of the GS4. However the XFone as well as their variant of the HTC One should be coming soon.

Check with a Verizon rep about the "pre owned" phones. When I upgraded to my Spectrum, I was able to keep unlimited back in December. Stock battery doesn't last long, but I am sure they have other pre owned options by now.

experience with my spectrum:
Using a 3800mah extended battery: 4hrs life with screen on consistently, still have more than 15% remaining. Streaming music (4G) with screen off in same time frame only used 25% battery.

Gaming: works pretty smooth, some graphics intensive games like Fast and Furious 6 occasionally lag

Reception: I live in a valley, only time I lose 4G is when I go around the mountains (still get 3-4 bars of 3G though)

Development: we do have a plethora of ROMs to choose from.

Price: I paid $49 for my phone with resigning contract and keeping my unlimited plan.

Got a Motorola Razr Maxx HD. Should be here tomorrow. After handling all phones, it felt the best to me and really liked the battery.

I think that's a pretty good choice. Good luck with it!

So I had it for 12 days and was a really nice phone. I had a problem it would get really hot when I would make calls. I'd have it in my front pocket and after 10 minutes or so on a call it would get hot enough to be uncomfortable and I'd have to remove it from my pocket. I make all my calls on my bluetooth.

I've sent it back and have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to replace it coming. I think the Note 2 will be better for my business. I like that I can be taking a phone call and writing down information on the Note 2 at the same time.
