Help! connecting tablet to TV

Sorry if iv missed a post on this but first time posting.
i want to watch movies that i have on my tablets (Samsung Tab 3 and a sony experia S) onto my TV which is a Sony Bravia. I know i need some sort of cable but more detailed info would be so much apprecated.

Wow, I really don't know anything about this, but that might attract people who do. Is there something you could do with Chromecast maybe? Sorry I'm not familiar with doing this.

I have been out today and was told by currys that I needed a HDMI cable and an mhi adaptor for my Samsung devices to work on my TV so I purchased what they recommended...haha! Still nothing! and what makes me laugh is he said its so easy....lol...
