Hello,
I am desperately looking for a solution (app, android settings) to the following use-case and acceptance criteria. Looking for an app which would combine all criteria or settings on multiple levels to stack them up.
Use-case:
As a visitor/client (user) I have just arrived at an office foyer and am presented with the opportunity to contact a specific person in the office by using a Touch Screen. This is connected to an android device which is running a "reception/front desk app".
Acceptance criteria:
a) 55 touchscreen is the front end for the user, android device is hidden/not accessible for the user
b) all user input via 55 touchscreen
c) front desk app has to display photos of all tenants in office space
d) under each photo there is an icon which will trigger direct phone call to tenant
e) user is restricted to use only reception/front desk app, he can not trigger task manager, notifications, switch to other apps etc...
f) reception/front desk app runs in full screen mode (no status bar)
g) app will be always on, no lock screen
h) administrator (owner of office space) is able to add, remove, modify tenant's details
What I have tried so far:
Web browser solution:
+ full screen (g)
+ photo dashboard with phone numbers links substituted by web site (c) (h)
+ locked app by pinning function, protected by PIN (e)
+ phone always on without lock screen by android OS settings (g)
PROBLEM: when triggering calls from the browser, it will try to launch the Phone app. This is blocked by the required pinned browser app
To summarise, the browser solution has been met with many obstacles we are finding difficult to overcome. Perhaps there is already an application that is suited to this task we have over looked. Or a different approach entirely.
Thanks for any advice/tip/recommendation.
Mike
