Help customizing my phone.

Not sure if this is the proper sub for this, but I'm not sure where else to post.
I am trying to find an app which I can use to assign custom sounds to phone functions, for example, I would like to have my phone make the sound of a Star Trek Tri-Corder when I turn on the Wi-Fi on my LG phone. Because let's be honest, a computer in your pocket that is also a communication device should make that noise when searching for EM signals.
I have many m-p3 files from video games I would like to associate to discrete phone functions. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure such app exists, but even if it exists, LG phones aren't ideal choices because theirs firmware are highly customized.

And an app of this nature probably requires a rooted phone. And again, LG phones aren't the most rooting friendly devices either.

There used to be such an app, and being a trekkie myself, I couldn't resist, but that was 6 or 7 years ago. I don't remember the apps name and I doubt it would work now. :(

FWIW I used it for about two weeks before it got tiresome. ;)

If you're rooted you can change many UI sounds and others in the /system/media/audio directory. However, I don't think you can add sound to wifi. Perhaps with tasker as Dannydet suggested you might have some luck.

This did give me an idea for a future app project. Adding sound to wifi state is actually not too difficult.
