HELP!! External SD Card & Music

Mitchy45

Lurker
Okay, first off, let me explain the situation. I have always had Apple up to this point, and I had over 2000 songs stuck in iTunes for the longest time on my very first Desktop. I managed to recover all of the music on there and put them into a folder on my new computer. However, it did take up quiet a bit of space so I moved it to a SD Card and deleted the folder. At this time, I could see all my files on my SD Card when I moved them. I had a Galaxy S5 at the time and put the SD card in there and played mp3 files using the default music player on the phone. After this, I never looked at the SD Card because I never had a reason to. However, I want to move the music now onto my iPad & Apple Watch/TV that I got. I took the SD Card out of my phone and the files are gone. They're not in there, but there's pictures of all the tracks in a file. I think they're hidden somehow? If they were gone completely I wouldn't be able to play the music when I put the SD Card in my phone.

I checked every single file that's on the SD Card.

HELP!!

However, it did take up quiet a bit of space so I moved it to a SD Card and deleted the folder.

That's not a good idea. SD cards are notoriously fragile and subject to failure without warning. You should ALWAYS have a backup of files stored on SD cards. But, since you say you can still play all the tracks, then I'd have to say that your files are still there.

I took the SD Card out of my phone and the files are gone. They're not in there, but there's pictures of all the tracks in a file.

I take it you removed the SD card from your phone and stuck it in a card reader to get access to the files? Is this the same way you copied them in the first place? The first thing that comes to mind is that the SD card is encrypted. When you first put it in your phone did it ask you if you wanted to use it as storage or expand internal memory?

What happens if you leave the card in your phone and plug the phone into your PC?

I am using an SD card reader to view the files on the SD card. I don't have android phone anymore. However, I used my friends from work and put the SD card in the phone and it still detects the music.

When I first put the Sd card into the phone it asked how to read the files and what format so I did MP3 using the android player. I also used it as external storage for apps etc. Which I can see on the SD card when I plug the reader in.

Not sure what I would fine if I put it in the phone and plugged the phone in.

Do you think that would allow me to see the mp3 files on there?
