Okay hey everyone. I have used Iphone ever since the original came out. Back when it came it out it was great, I believe it was a true revolution for "smart phone" technology. Now I have been trying to keep in the know and all though the Apple "complacent" user base is MASSIVE (ie. "I already have itunes and all my music, so Ill just get the new iphone" or "I already know how to use it so ill just stick with it") and I have discovered that Android phones seem to have REALLY surpassed Apple in terms of sheer hardware by far, as well as software and other such things.
So i made the switch! First day switch to Galaxy Nexus on Verizon when it launched on the 15th.
So far I love a lot of what I have seen, but so much is foreign to me. I know once I get some orientation and some info on android I will be able to utilize and harness its real potential abilities, but I need to know where to start.
I would really appreciate some info, perhaps from people who once used an iphone?, as to what I should be using.
Things I miss, is there a replacement or equal on android?, if so, best option or solution:
1. Whenever I access the website soundcloud.com from my nexus device, I can start the tracks but can never stop them, the music will not stop playing no matter what, even tho the page is not frozen and I can select anything else, even if I unplug headphone jack sound continues until I close the webpage, never an issue on iphone
2. My filthFM app doesnt work at all, upon booting it crashes, everytime regardless of how many reinstalls I do. On iphone this also worked perfectly, this is perhaps however the app creators fault?
3. Google Music: Just download the "Music" app from the marketplace, sinc all the files in there, anything else just move the mp3's to my nexus "music" folder? Is that about the jist of it to replace Itunes for good? or is there more to it?
4. Notes. I didnt see any note system built onto the nexus. The iphone always had a pretty sufficient notes app built right in. I frequently need to take notes in order to remember things and organize days. I downloaded a "notes" app but it is of terrible quality with advertisements among other things. Is there a good solution for this?
Other than that, is there any more info you guys can give a former Iphone user current Nexus user to get the optimum experience and performance from this device?
What apps to use and download? What features are especially useful or just awesome?
Really looking forward to some help and feedback! Excited to be in with the Android!
