Help Help getting generic game controller to work with Nexus 7 2012

Hello,
I am currently using Nexus 7 2012 Tablet with custom rom [SlimRom]. When connecting a generic game controller via an OTG cable. I am only able to get both the analog stick running, none of the other buttons work. When using gamepad testing app, the app only shows data of the analog sticks only. The game driver detected by the android is DragonRise Inc. Generic USB Joystick.
I will greatly appreciate some help regarding the issue.

I'm pretty certain my old PS3 controller worked over OTG without issue. I can't recall if it was using SlimRom though, but I was definitely running a custom ROM at the time.

Have you thought about using Bluetooth and Sixaxis?

Yes I tried Sixaxis and also USB/BT Joystick Center, my controller is a cheap chinese model, let me show you some pictures .
As you can see no button data is displayed and the triggers are also not working, only the dpad and axis are working
This is my controller
