Lurker
I recently bought a used galaxy note 4 for my wife, the phone was bought from a tech guy that worked in a Samsung store.
the phone had been loaded with the note 7 firmware, this was a little glitchy and began crashing the phone.
I assured my wife that I was able to flash the stock software back to the phone, I have done this before on other phones and tablets etc.
the software flashed across with no issues and the phone worked fine..... until my wife restarted the phone, it wouldn't boot up until I removed and replaced the battery, assuming that there was a glitch with the firmware I factory reset and wiped the partition again then re flashed the stock firmware, again the phone worked fine and sailed through the initial set up, once it was up and running I tried to reset the phone to test it.........

now the phone wont turn on, it wont charge, it wont boot in recovery or safe mode.... I have had the battery in and out many times and have held the power button with the battery out to discharge power......
the phone is dead! is there any way back from this or do I accept I need to start looking for a new phone for the wife!!!

Are you sure it's not just the battery that's dead?
tried using the battery out of my note 4.... no joy, but I have had her phone plugged in to the laptop all afternoon and when I put her battery in my phone it has charged, so even though her phone don't look like its charging (no led indicator or charge symbol) it is!

tough one...... but I been with the wife 12 years..... so shes on a fairly good operating system now! looks like I need to go shopping
Hi, you're lucky I've been with mine 50 years next year and wouldn't even get a new phone in exchange for her now! Phil

It's not easy to brick a Note 4.

Did you format the system partition in recovery mode?
And did you use ODIN for flashing? (It Seems like the best I have seen-used)

Only thing I can suggest from this point is to try:

Plug the Note4 into your computer via the USB cable - and Try to power it up into recovery mode.

Press and Hold the Power Button, Home Button and Volume Up Button at the Same Time
Continue Holding These Buttons Until You See Some Blue Text at the Top
When You See the “Recovery Booting….” Text, Let Go of These Buttons

You may know all this but just thought I would toss it in.

A major problem is any Note 7 ROM will not be appropriate with any Note 4 phone. Samsung stock ROMs are not interchangeable, each one must match the specific model.
Which ROMs were you using to re-flash and where did you obtain them from?
Also, what's the exact model I.D. of that Note 4?
