Help!! I'm stuck on a black screen after Samsung logo

Hi;
I have a Samsung Galaxy Discover for Cricket (SCH-R740C) that gets stuck on a black screen(after the boot logo) when trying to turn it on. I have tried leaving the battery out for 8min, doing a factory rest multiple times(along with wiping cache) in recovery, and leaving it at the black screen to see if anything changes, but nothing does.
I can still boot to Download Mode and Recovery.
It is rooted but I did not do anything to modify the system(expert for using adaway to remove ads and freezing some apps).
Is there anyway to recovery it??

Or can somebody please pull the sysytem partion and upload for me?
but before doing that, see if adb can be accessed in download mode or recovery.
to pull the sytem (with adb): adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p16
(through phone) busybox cp /dev/block/mmcblk0p16 /sdcard (or to the actual sdcard)
I need it because my phone is stuck at a black scree after the Samsung logo durring boot, I can only access Download Mode and Recovery :crying:

DMedina559, did you ever get what you needed? I too have a samsung galaxy discover sch-r740c that won't boot. I can connect to it using Odin from my computer on the recovery screen, where it says "Downloading... Do not turn off target!" - yet, I am completely unable to find a custom rom or even stock image I can reflash it with so it will work again. This is my first android experience, and it confirms everything I was afraid of - the inability to find software or updates from the manufacturer. With an iphone, I can easily find the OS to reflash it with.

Hi did anyone ever discover how to fix that problem? My boyfriend has the same issue same phone and was hoping to fix.

Well I never figured out a fix so I had to go through Cricket and get new phone from Samsung under warranty exchange. I was told by a Cricket employee that a virus was the only cause of the Android System Recovery/ blackscreen. Could have come from anywhere. My concern then was about turning in my old phone without assuring my private info was deleted. The Cricket employee said since we couldn't get back into phone, my info would be completely unaccessable...yeah, right. I proceeded with phone exchange but I'll be escaping Cricket soon. Too many issues.

Sorry for late reply.
No I never did find a solution. I asked Samsung for Odin files to reflash it, they said they can't release the files(although they did offer to reflash it them selves.) I had to go through the 30 day thing from cricket.
But now when I'm on a long call I get a random reboot .-.

According to you, you did a factory reset from 'recovery' that clears the data from the data folder, pulling the SD card as well ensures none of your personal information is on the android device. in regards to your replacement phone, would you be willing to root it and pull a 'stock rooted' image?

I started tweaking my phone from the original firmware and do not have the ability to restore my phone to a point I can receive updates, and I would like to start some development for this device using the latest 'firmware' from Samsung/cricket.
