Ok, i just synced with app brain and immediatly afterwards recieved about 7 messages saying my creditcard was billed. i was able to stop 3 of them. (by the way this was app that i didnt buy, have on my phone, or ever even heard of for that matter)

now verizon is tellign me that the only way to change the default account is to do a hard reset, which we all know, but then also said that unless i put the original account back on the phone, i wont be able to get the apps that I DID pay for, without buying them again....THAT is bullshit! the apps should be associated with the phone number, not a freaking email account. does anyone know if there is anyways around this?

Nope - apps are associated with your Google account. Not your Phone number.

I can guarantee that it was not appBrain that was charging your account - someone how or another your account details were leaked or else somehow or another you (or someone else) added apps to your AppBrain which then automatically tried to install. Or else you got hacked.

I'd start trying to figure out what got added where and how. As for the factory reset, well, it will remove all apps, but if it is sync'd to your account, then the offending app will add possibly be added to your phone again....

What was the app that was charging you? As in name, please?

I have been using AppBrain for ~5 months and have never received a charge for anything.

well it only happened when i synced, and they all came at once...its all good, i think i found the problem. im just gonna move the apps to my sd card, and reset the phone, and use a new account.

All the paid apps will not update from the market, and will prompt you to buy them again.

I, too, want to change my primary account to one that is for my domain, but Google is not allowing it - and I have over $76 in paid apps on this account currently, so....

yeah i have like 30..BUT..you can transfer to your sd card now..

but i gotta feeling im gonna have to edit the apps so they dont ask for account verification. i hate to hack peoples software, but whatever i already paid for it.

You ALWAYS have 24 hours to uninstall the paid apps and the money will be credited back to your credit card.

Then, change your Gmail account password and do not leave it logged on on a PC accessed by other people. Normal security measures.
