Help me finalize my phone choice...

So I'm in the process of needing a new phone, I've went through three blackberries and I am honestly tired of them, the only benefit is BBM and I can live without it...

Questions :

1. If I get the X10, since it it currently running 1.6, if I root and upgrade to 2.1...

Do I get Multi-Touch capabilities? Will it run smoother and more efficently?

2. Should I just wait for Sony to release their proprietary stuff and hope they do well?

3. Is the X10 really worth it? I'm between it and an Iphone right now, not much else of an option for a full touch on the Rogers network here in Canada for the phone selection that I have. You can see all the phones I am able to get here. (By this I mean these are literally the phones I can pick from, I get them as free upgrades)


Any advice would be appreciated.

I can only get the 3GS for free, I can get the Iphone 4 direct through apple or when we get it but that's months away and honestly I don't know how much I want the Iphone..

Tough choice, point of fact is that the x10 simply does not support multitouch from a hardware perspective.. and your phone operator really has a lousy inventory!

However, the 3GS will probably not have proper support through the duration of your contract, as Apple mainly seems to fully update the current generation and the one before that.

Of the two, I would go for the x10, but if possible make a push for the iphone 4.
 
If you can get the iPhone 4, that would be the best phone. But if it comes down to what you can get for free, I think the X10 would be a better choice than the 3GS. Mostly because of the problems people are having with iOS 4 on the 3GS.
