Apps Help me get started info

Hi everyone,
I did some programming in high school using Basic and have a general idea about how to go about doing it. My question is- where should I start to get my feet wet if I want to develop apps for android?

C++, java, both, neither?

There are some 10 week learn android programs out there and I was wondering if I should buy one of those or has anyone got experience with an online development program?

I recommend starting with Java.
