Help me get this thing working!

I bought a nexus 5 from ebay. I am using the walmart family mobile plan which uses the tmobile network. I put my sim in the nexus 5 from my previously working android phone. On the nexus I am able to make voice calls but can not get data to work.

Not sure what to do any advice would be great.

My guess is that you need to set the APN manually. You can more or less follow the instructions on this page, the section that is titled, "Verify and update the APN setting". The one thing that might throw you off is you need to select "More..." between steps 3 and 4.

Thanks you are right that fixed it. There were already two other tmobile apn's in there but those didn't work.

I'm guessing it was with a major carrier? While APN's auto-propogate for the bigger carriers, you frequently have to manually enter them for MVNOs.
