help me - problems with voice messages

Audio formats come in many forms. It could be that they were encoded with something that is incompatible with your phone, or you just don't have the proper decoder installed. It would be very helpful to know exactly where they were coming from. An iPhone? a PC? Android? Brand? What app was used to record it and how, exactly was it sent to you?

It could simply be that they didn't send a file at all, but only a link that points to someplace you may not have access to.

Which cellular service carrier do you use?

Were you able to access your voicemail messages before and it just recently stopped, or have you had this problem all the time?

If you go to your carrier's web site, there's likely to be a FAQ page that refers directly to setting up your voicemail service, or help pages where you can post a query where there are others who also use the same carrier might be able to help (odds are if you're having a problem, others have too).
An example being with my carrier, accessing and/or setting up voicemail is a matter of starting up the Phone app, and just using the numeric dialer long press on the 1 button and the voicemail screen pops up.

they are coming from a galaxy s9 plus going to a galaxy s8. I have downloaded go sms pro messenger on the Galaxy s8. when I get voice audio messages from the Galaxy s9 plus I can't listen to them I have to go to my original text messages to listen to them. I just want to know why I can't listen to them on the app I have downloaded.

It could be a couple of reasons. One thing that comes to mind is the default player. It could be that Go sms doesn't play the files natively and wants to use an audio app that may not support the file format. If you set the default player to "always" the first time, it won't ask which player you want to use every time you try and open a file. Try going into settings>apps and clear your defaults. This will make Go sms prompt you when it wants to open a file. When it asks, chose "one time" instead of "always" until you find an app that can play the audio.
