Hello All , I am happy to be on this forum. I have a serious doubt . I am getting frequent messages from toyota and other app 99 acres stating that " thanks for contacting Toyota . Your query will be solved and our executive will call you."

But I have not contacted any one. Why am I getting this kind of messages . Contacted Toyota company but to of no help..they say my phone is being used by some one . Can any out here help me out with this one. Thanks

Thanks Bobby , but why do the various Toyota showroom people contact me saying that I have enquired about this car model , do you need any information regarding this model or are you going to buy this model ? This calls comes after I get those messages from toyota. When I contacted Toyota company , their security team says someone is using my mobile number and without OTP , no one can enquire the models of toyata without using their mobile number. I .shocked and I don't know how to reply to this kind of calls ...

There aren't enough mobile numbers for people. Could have been a random guess.

I had this happen with Nissan. Someone either guessed my number or mistyped their own when looking for info. I was getting called by both the local dealer and Nissan America. After the third call I kind of snapped at the general manager that they had the wrong number and to please stop calling me. They removed me from their list and I never heard again.

Many years ago, I wrote a script to demonstrate how easy it was to log thousands of real email addresses from newsgroups. I'm just a hobbyist, think what an actual programmer could do with a thirty dollar Raspberry Pi and a public wifi.

As in text messages?

If it is a legitimate company, text 'stop' to the number that texted you.

A legitimate company will cease to contact you via text afterwards.

A scammer will double down.
At that point just block the number.

If all else fails, use an app made to block unwanted calls and texts.
