Help!!!! my clock doesn't work

So here's the problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy 551, Android 2.2. When I use a screen lock(i.e. use a pattern to lock my phone) and when i try to use the clock, the phone keeps locking it self. To be fair the alarm does work but if I need to change it, I have to disable screen lock to change... What should I do?

I am a little confused by your posting and would just like to clarify the facts...

1. Contrary to your thread title, it would seem that your clock is in fact working correctly and keeping good time?

2. That the alarm is in fact working and will sound even though the screen is locked?

3. The problem, as far as you are concerned, seems to be that when you are on the clock screen, the locking that you have enabled cuts in and to access the clock you first have to enter your pattern code?

Is that correct or am I missing something?

Excuse my explanation but yes you are right

Screen lock as the word implies is to lock isn't it? There is usually a Screen Time Out component too.

If you want the screen lock to disappear whenever you want to use the phone then
you may want to do a trial of my app called Auto LockUnlock in Android market. But as a software approach it will NOT override your Screen Lock feature the phone manufacturer gives you.

E.g it will not work when you enable the Screen Lock feature. You have to disable the Screen Lock and then Start my app and you can try out once screen on, the keyguard is unlocked automatically.

Just in case you are curious even without Screen Lock, Android will also do a auto-lock when you turn on your phone. My app is to un-do this default feature and make it based on user preference instead.

So, the phone is in fact doing exactly what you have asked it to do, i.e. auto-lock.

So you can either disable auto-lock in Settings or install, free from the Market, No Lock which will disable locking.

Hope this helps. :D

i faced the same problem. and solved, here is my answer:

Did anyone faced the same problem?

I set the pattern screen lock for about a week, and it work normally with no problem with the clock.

But yesterday, as usual n I tried to set alarm thru the clock icon, the pattern lock showed up and keep locking all the function of my phone (except power button) no matter how many unlock attemp i tried.

Then I press the power button to shut off and then restart and set unable the pattern lock....the clock went normal then (no pattern unlock screen showed up)

I also tried the PIN & Password screen unlock....then similar problem happened as above

Before the problem happen, I uninstall ZD box and installed App2SD...is this related?

updated!!!
I reinstall the ZD box application...set up the pattern lock...enter the clock...everything goes normal! then I uninstall the ZD box...enter the clock again...nothing happen!

so the problem solved by my self no more than 15 min after I posted this thread :D
hahha...

I would conclude: IF YOU FACED THE SAME PROBLEM...TRY TO REINSTALL SOME LAST APP YOU ALREADY UNINSTALLED BEFORE, THEN TRY PRESS THE CLOCK ICON (HOPE THE PROBLEM SOLVED) AND YOU CAN UNINSTALL THE APPS FREELY

MAYBE SOME FILE RELATED TO / SHARED BETWEEN THE CLOCK AND OTHER APPS BEING DELETED UPON THE UNINSTALL PROCESS.
