Root HELP! Need a ROM!

Been on stock Lollipop 5.0.2 on my 2012 N7 and can't stand it. (love it on my N6) just extremely laggy and takes forever to open apps. I have rooted again and ready for a custom ROM but have been away for so long don't know where to look for something current for my N7 2012 that is running smooth. Any suggestion on a solid ROM and where to find it would be appreciated.

I'm running the official CM12 nightlies on mine and there's no lagginess at all.

Do you have the standard, or 3g variant?

It's the 2012 Asus Wifi only.
