Help needed... mp3 notification

Help, I have got a cool mp3 sound I want to use as my notification sound.
I have created a folder in the sd card called notifications and put the mp3 in it. then went to menu/settings/sound/notification sound but it aint there
What am i doing wrong??

Make sure that the name of the folder is not capitalized.

Thankyou, I eventually sorted it out and found an app called ringdroid, that has done the job for me..

or you could convert it into an m4a file and put it in your notifications folder. that's what worked for me.
