help needed on rooting and custom roms

Need some help with regards to rooting and installing custom roms. I'm new to android coming from apple. I have a galaxy tab 2 10.1 running 4.2.2 and a galaxy s3 running 4.3.

I have some knowledge on the topic as I've been researching for awhile now. The part I don't understand is which exact files to download and the process of recovery/touch recovery.

I'm not sure how to choose or install custom roms either.

A step by step would be highly appreciated for my specific devices.

The root and ROM process is different for every device, so follow instructions for your specific device. Do not use the same ROM for the Tab and S3.

Your best bet since you are discussing about 2 devices, I would post in the root section of both devices that Kate provided for you. This way both devices are not confused with the process. Cheers and good luck.
