Help Help needed please!

Hi, I'am new on here and sorry if i have posted on the wrong forum but i'am looking for a little help please, I have a samsung galaxy portal android phone and i'm trying to turn the sound of when texting a message its so annoying, Does anyone know how i can do this with out having my phone on silent please.

Go into setting/sounds, scroll down to Audible touch tones and remove the green check mark.
