Help! New to android!

[Android Question]

I have a Sprint HTC EVO 4G. When I receive a text I read it. But the green number that says 1 meaning 1 unread text doesn't go away. If that person had texted me twice and I read both the number 2 doesn't go away. Help?

That is very strange. I suggest going into "Settings > Manage apps" and clearing cache and data. Note that doing so will erase your configuration settings and received texts, so take a backup first if it's important to you. If this fixes it but it happens again, check to see if the app or its data are stored on the external sd card. If so, it could be a sign that your card is failing.GL!
