help! newbie to android

hi guys,

i recently brought an arnova 7c g2 tablet. i only want it for the basics so its just fine for me, except for one slight problem. under the settings>security menu there is no option to put a code on the device.

i wondered if anyone could recommend an app to solve this?

would rooting the device help? i am new to all of this and i have no tech/programming knowledge. i have googled rooting and it seems to me very complicated.

does anyone have any advice for me?

Being a newbie such as yourself (no offence intended), I think that the default stuff should work fine for you. Rooting (in my experience) is very complicated and you might end up messing with the firmware. However, I don't know if there's any of those 'one-click' rooting processes. As for starting-off apps, I'm unfamiliar with Tablet apps, but you might want to get Facebook if you have one.
