Help HELP! No keyboard!

Pacman83

Lurker
Hi,

After a hard reset on my phone, I've lost the keyboard altogether. (Android 4.3)
Therefore, I can't access anything in order to log into the Play Store for example.

I'm not experienced in these matters,so can any help be foolproof?

Many thanks.

Hmm, odd that you would lose the keyboard after a reset.
However, go into your menu/settings/language & keyboards to check to see if one is enabled?
Otherwise, on a computer, get into your PlayStore account, download a keyboard to your device, enable it in the language & keyboards and see if that works.?

Hi,

I do have a Playstore account, which shows the basic keyboard, but my new phone is not yet registered with them and therefore obviously doesn't appear there. Sorry, I forgot to add in the first post, it's brand new today ......

Hi

Have a look in

settings
app manager
ALL tab at the top
scroll down to the bottom and check that the keyboard has not somehow become disabled, if so enable it.

As an aside, why would you do a reset on a new phone , before even registering a google account on it?

Roger

I've sorted it. Don'task how, but I finally managed to download and transfer the apk file to the phone.
In answer to your question, the Wi-Fi was not authenticating at all on the new phone, so I thought (stupidly on reflection) that resetting the phone would be a good idea. NOT ;)
