HELP please How do i set my photos etc to save to Mini sd and not phone on mytouch 4g

Hello I just got the mytouch 4g and have looked all through it , online and in the manual what i need to know is it automatically set to save pics and videos and other items to the mini sd card or do i need to set it to do so and if i need to where do i do this ? thanks in advance for oyur help
