Help Help regarding apps and storage!

Hi there! Can you please help me in the simplest way possible please (I'm not good with all the technical terms lol)

Basically I have a Samsung Galaxy 2 (I have had it for a year+) and I am trying to download more apps from Play Store but it keeps saying "There is Insufficent space on the device". I belive that basically means not enough memory/storage space.

However, I don't think I have that many apps or pics, vids etc so I don't understand why I have little space.

I have gone to Settings>Storage and I don't understand!
It says...
Device Memory: Total Space 1.97GB
Applications 1.09GB
Available 220MB

USB Storage: Total Space 11.50GB
(Apps, pics, vids etc)
Available 9.78GB

No SD card: (I don't have one of these)

By the looks of it I have lots of available space yet I cannot download apps from Play Store. Why is this??? Can anyone please help me with this problem. It is so fustrating. Thanks all :)

Hi Ryanlost, welcome to Android Forums.

Go to settings >applications > manage >all, scroll down to Google Play Store, hit the force stop button, then hit clear data, then uninstall updates, now reboot your phone, you should now be able to download apps ;)

EDIT : If that doesn't work try clearing cache and dalvik cache.
