I bought a V10 via a friend in New York from ebay. The phone is locked to tmobile but i thought it can't be that hard to unlock for my UK EE sim, wrong.
I put in my sim and used the 'unlock' app,but it failed to work so i called tmobile in the U.S but was told they can only unlock the phone to the original purchaser!!!!!!! and it seems tmobile phones won't unlock with a code either.
Im tearing my hair out here. such a lovely phone and great camera, was so excited to get it and now im stuck.
Any help much appreciated

Call back & try again, this particular CSR is misinformed & gave you false/incorrect information.
The SIM Unlocking requirements are outlined here:
http://www.t-mobile.com/company/com...olicy/unlock-your-mobile-wireless-device.html
I saw one statement in the terms that is a catch-all:
  • T-Mobile may request proof of purchase or additional information in its discretion and certain other exceptions may apply.
However,I can't imagine T-Mobile invoking it for no reason,as long as the other terms have been met.
Check the IMEI on Swappa:
https://swappa.com/esn

Also, take it to a local service provider & see if they will activate it.If they won't/can't,ask them why.............. They should be able to check the ESN/IMEI also.

Thanks Kolio, just checked the Imei and it looks clear, isnt blocked.
she did tell me the unlock app only works on data with a tmobile(U.S) sim.so no chance for me over here on that count.
ill have a read of the requirements and try them again.
cheers mate.

she also toutched on some of the requirements, that the contract may not have been paid up to date,BUT she didnt take my IMEI to check it either.

:D:DHAPPY DAYS:D:D
I'm up and running. Not sure what happened but I tried the unlock app again and this time it worked.
At 11st I had no data but a quick call to EE uk to configure my settings and everything is working :D:D:p:p
