Help w/Calendar App

Is there any way to adjust the start/end of each day in the calendar app? When I open up the app, by default every day starts at 1am and ends at 12am. The only thing I have going on at 1am is sleeping so I really would like to change this. I'm not talking about changing the start/end time of an event I'm creating in the calendar, I'm talking about changing the start/end time of each day that the calendar app displays.

Hi Thom...I just purchased a Galaxy Note 4 and, you're correct, I'm referring to the default calendar app that came with the phone.

How do you know that your calendar starts at 1 am? I just looked on mine (just upgraded to Lollipop), and you can see the start and end times if you go to 'day' view. When I do that, it looks like it starts at midnight, with room for two lines of text before the first time entry, which is 1 am. If I try to create an appointment at say 12:05 am, it is correct and on the right day.

Yes, but what I want is to eliminate the 1am start time altogether. Rarely do I have any appointment that occurs at 1am or midnight for that matter. 99% of my appointments occur between 5am and 1opm so I'd like to customize my day view to only include that time frame.

...Got it! I have definitely seen that feature on other calendars, but this one apparently does not support it. But there are lots of calendars in the Play Store, perhaps another user will suggest one which makes that easy. I have used the stock calendar since the S3, because I appreciate having appointments showing on the Month view. Anybody know of a good calendar which does this, and allows the day view to be customized??

Thanks for your help, Greg, it's much appreciated. I was thinking of looking for another calendar app but I need one that syncs with iCal as well as Kies. While my phone is an Android I still use Macs for everything else. I'll continue searching.

You got me to thinking that it is time to look again. I found aCalendar in the Play store. Looks really good, and you CAN set the start and stop times for the day view. It is not an unlimited range for either, but looks like it would meet your need. I will run it for a few days, and report back here as I learn more.

According to the information the developers published, they use the built-in calendar back-end. I don't know whether that is good news or bad as far as syncing to your Mac computers. Perhaps you can try and report back here.

Okay, I'll do some checking and share what I find. Quick question...I am new to Android and just bought this phone...I have 14 days to swap out my GN4 for an iPhone. If I do decide to do this, what's the procedure to completely wipe out all the information on the device so that none of my personal info can be recovered by the new owner?

I didn't have the answer to your last question, so passed. I have had some experience now with aCalendar, and it has been a very good experience. As I mentioned above, I liked the month view on the stock calendar, and really dislike the new version of Google Calendar. I have now discovered that aCalendar has a nice month-view widget, which shows the appointments right in the widget. It looks very nice, I am now looking for a way to get it on a home screen closer to the default home :>)

I hate using the factory reset, but that's probably what you should do. Wipes out all ur personal stuff.
