Help... WhatsApp not receiving messages (suddenly)

Hello, this morning whatsapp was working ok and after an hour of not using it, without doing anything to the phone (update or change settings) it suddenly started to behave so weird.

What happens:

*can send messages
*can see when my contacts are online, typing or last time online
*CAN'T receive messages
*when I send a message, the other contact receives it, but I get only one checkmark not two
*When someone sends me a message they also get single checkmark (sent, but not received by me)

What I have tried:

*clear cache
*clear data
*reinstall app (even without restoring conversations)

My phone:

*moto g 1st gen
*android 5.1

Does anyone have the same problem?
Does anyone think it's a server problem or is it my phone?

Send a bug report to the devs. I don't think their is anything anyone can do for you.
 
My technical knowledge of android is limited, I really hope it's some problem with the whatsapp servers, cause I'm not sure I can make a good bug report.

I have this same problem sinds yesterday >>??? Any solitions?? suddenly stopped recieving i can still send messages and they come trough but i cant see them deleverd nor can i recieve,, this is really annoying !!

Yes, Everything started working, it should have been a problem on whatsapp servers or similar, cause the problem went away by itself. I suppose it didn't affect so many users as to make the subject public. But I did contact wahatsapp and never heard from them.

I'm currently experiencing this right now. Basically everything you've written above + not being able to connect via whatsapp web. It just keeps asking to retry. Can see who's online, typing, when online but not receive messages nor get notified if my messages were sent but they do receive it.

I'm going to wait for a day to fix itself as suggested above. Did you guys do anything for it to work aside from waiting like reinstall again after a day? or it would suddenly just work and you will get all automatically the messages you did receive previously? Please advise.

Thank you so much! Really need whatsapp for an urgent matter.
 
I'm from Italy and I'm experiencing the same problem. Everything it's ok but I don't receive any messange. My phone is rooted but I don't think it's that the problem. I haven't changed anything in the configuration today.
Already tried to format ad wipe all data. Nothing has changed. I've sended a mail but they don't give support to rooted phones. Any idea...or the only way is wait and pray?

Same problem here hope it will go away :/
 
It's not a software problem. Same problem using another telephone with same sim and telephone number. Today everything it's ok. Maybe a verification problem? I don't know, just wait for 24 hours...and pray.

Hey everybody, Whatsapp must be doing some internal changes and some phones will definitely experience problems, some worse than others, but don't panic, no need to reinstall, clear data or anything else, just be patient and the problem will go away by itself.
Still it's very annoying that we hear no word from whatsapp, they should make this issue public for people not to start messing so much with their phones. Imagine that I even considered doing a factory restore :mad::mad::mad:
BTW, My Phone is from Venezuela and I have heard reports from China too, so it's not country related.
Hope all people experiencing this issue reads this post.
